Quality choices for a great night sleep. Self inflating mattresses are a revolution in comfort and innovative design. The unique construction requires no pump. Simply unroll the bed form the carry bag provided, open the valve and watch as the mattress draws in air and inflates all by itself. Inside the mattress is filled with anti-fungal treated high density foam for extra comfort, warmth and insulation. Combined with the air, this mattress gives you the most comfortable nights sleep you can get outdoors.
Self inflating mattresses have many advantages over air beds which include:
no pump required, simply unroll and watch it inflate
Extra warmth and insulation. Air beds give you a cold back on winter nights.
Added strength. Outer fabrics are PVC with a velour non-slip coating which are thicker and more abrasion resistant than most air beds.
When your partner rolls over, you wont get bumped off the bed.
Less prone to punctures so the bed wont deflate in the middle of the night.
The bed shapes to the contours of the ground and you wont bottom out, which means a more comfortable nights sleep for all.
All Diamantina self inflating mattresses come with a draw string carry bag, repair kit and a 12 month warranty.
Note - product differences. There are many brands to choose from and our mattresses are becoming widely recognised for their superior quality. But many brands look the same on the outside !!
The PVC outer shell is often the same, the difference is largely in the foam.
We have opened up many brands of self inflating mattresses and have been shocked at the quality differences we have found. Manufacturers can choose high density or low density foam, and different chemical treatments cn be used which will impact the longevity of the foam. Dont be fooled into thinking they are always the same. Cheap means cheap.
After comparing the performance of different foam densities, we founf the low density foam was easy to roll up, but didnt last very long and began to "bottom out" and crush in a short space of time.
We use a very high density foam chemically treated for mould and moisture resistance. By using better quality foam, the product will hold its consistent shape and comfort for many more years compared to a low density foam that will flatten and deteriorate with time, losing comfort, structure and warmth. One of the difficulties we found with using a higher quality of foam is it can at times be more difficult to roll the mattress up, with greater resistance from the foam. This is a sign of quality. Try rolling up the different mattresses. The soft and easily rolled and crushed mattresses are using the inferior low density foam. So look for a mattress that gove "resistance" when rolling it up.
INNOVATION - We found a way to maintain the high quality foam inside, and how to make the rolling process easier. We decided to crinkle cut the top of the foam like a potato chip. This has made the foam softer at the top and easier to roll up, and also improves the comfort of the top of the mattress. We made this change over 2 years ago and we havent looked back. Its a fantastic design feature. We also added an inflatable pillow into one end to provide a pillow section to the mattress if you want to use it. These unique features have made our self inflating mattresses one of the best quality, and most comfortable options for mobile bedding available in Australia.

Stretchers are not all the same. Many cheaper style stretchers have problems with tearing fabrics and light frames with legs that easily bend.
These Diamantina stretchers use a 1200D reinforced polyester fabric for greater tear strength. Also the frame is a double wall thickness, with an added tube of steel down each leg to prevent any bending. Eash of these stretchers comes complete with a side pocket and carry bag. |
